Tactile Gallery

This long-term show presents 12 sculptures from the museum’s collection, selected with the assistance of visually impaired visitors that had participated of guided tours in the museum for a period of five years prior to the exhibition opening. Dimension, form, texture and aesthetical diversity where some of the criteria for the selection, as they favor the comprehension and artistic appreciation of the works by touch.

Amongst the selected artists, are Rodolfo Bernardelli (1852, Mexico – 1931, Brazil), Victor Brecheret (1894 – 1955, Brazil), Bruno Giorgi (1905 – 1993, Brazil) and Amilcar de Castro (1920 – 2002, Brazil). The exhibition is completed by an audio-guide, folders and a catalogue in double reading (ink and braille).
