The Logic of Approximation in Art and Life

Museo della Permanente, Via Filippo Turati

The Logic of Approximation in Art and Life is one of the exhibitions part of XX1T, this year’s Milan Triennale.

“We live immersed into approximation, we would say that without approximation our life would become impossible and even more so our art” stated Gillo Dorfes at the end of the conference organized by the Triennale in 1951 titled “de divina proportione”

The show designed by Blumer will be a multi sensory experience, a sort of path inside approximation with which we have a relationship everyday and it will focus on a series of artworks, starting from Mondrian‘s and up to objects of daily life such as a coffee machine and never exhibited paitings by John Cage.

On display are works by, among others, Marcel Duchamp, Piero Manzoni, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Gabriele Basilico, Ugo Mulas, projects of Mario Botta, Giancarlo Iliprandi, Alberto Meda, Renzo Piano, Denis Santachiara, Studio Azzurro, some of Elio products Fiorucci.
