The Others

“The Others” is a group exhibition of 15 works by 12 artists, curated by Elmgreen & Dragset in the spaces of the formerly Catholic church, Konig Galerie.

Inspired by this setting, the show deals with the representation of the body within the Christian iconography. Addressing issue of gender, race, sexuality and morality, the exhibition showcases the works of the artists as “the others”, mostly people coming from Protestant or Catholic countries.

The variety of figurative works on show brings to reflect upon the concept of materiality, identity and spirituality, in contrast with the loss of values that seems to affect the digital era we are living in.
