Curated by Daniela Berta and Andrea Lerda, the exhibition “Under Water” features the works of contemporary artists in dialogue with an important body of works from the collections of the Museo della Montagna – Turin, engendering a series of reflections about the issue of water.
The first part of the show explores the concept of “under water” in relation to the Anthropocene era, investigating on themes such as rising sea levels, melting glaciers and extreme natural events. In the second part, the word “under” is, instead, meant to be understood as “less of water”. A condition, of scarcity, absence and alteration caused by climate change, polluting situations and the exploita- tion of water resources for economic gain.
The exhibition is developed in collaboration with scholars, researchers and experts in the field is presented. The documents are offered to the public as in-depth items providing the various sections of the exhibition with theoretical background.
