Victor Leguy: O Museu Inexistente No 1

Funarte

26 Mar 201706 May 2017

Funarte presents the project “O Museu Inexistente No 1”, conceived by the artist Victor Leguy in collaboration with the curator Gabriel Bogossian: the work proposes a fake museum recounting the history of Brazil under a new perspective. The exhibition, on view at Flávio de Carvalho Art Gallery, aims to decolonize the view and open our visual repertory about Brazilian heritage: by exhibiting photographies, movies, documents and objects, the show addresses the imaginary built around the indigenous population of Enawenê-Nawê, beside questioning the role of museums in contemporary society.
