Marian Goodman Gallery in New York hosts the solo exhibition dedicated to the artist William Kentridge. The South-African artist, born in Johannesburg in 1955, is mostly known for for his prints, drawings and animated films. Through these media, he records the dramatic political events he witnesses, transforming them into poetic allegories. His signature technique consists in photographing his charcoal drawings and paper collages over time, recording scenes as they evolve. He enriches these representations by using optical tricks and anamorphic projections which give them the illusion of tridimensionality.
