White Cube Hong Kong presents a new exhibition by Theaster Gates, that runs from 21 March until 20 May 2017. The last Gate’s exhibition in Hong Kong was in 2013 at White Cube, this new show will include a new series of works in bronze that extend artist’s visual language around roofing practices. Gates‘ practice aim to bridge the gap between art and life and his projects attempt to instigate the creation of cultural communities.

Absolut presents a new collaboration with Portuguese-born, Hong Kong-based artist João Vasco Paiva on a site-specific Art Bar titled “Room Service”. The installation will be presented during the Art Basel week and it is the artist’s vision of a timeless oasis where the contemporary world and nature coincide. Featuring a series of sculptures, film projections along with resting nets, “Room Service” places a contemporary spin on the concept of sanctuary; the Absolut Bar features a series of Artist Cocktails created by João Vasco Paiva with an Absolut mixologist to reflect the theme of retreat.
