Encounters

Dedicated to presenting large-scale sculpture and installation works by leading artists from around the world, Encounters provides visitors with the opportunity to see works that transcend the traditional art fair stands. The sector presents these works in prominent locations throughout the exhibition halls.

Encounters is curated by Alexie Glass-Kantor, Executive Director of Artspace, Sydney, the preeminent Australian institution which supports the commissioning of contemporary art, publishing initiatives, and residencies. Since 1999 she has been active as a curator working across independent spaces, collecting institutions, biennials and festivals.
