Design Miami/ Basel returns for its fourteenth edition, featuring forty-one galleries from twelve countries. This year the fair is led by new Curatorial Director Aric Chen. Chen is the first to be appointed to the newly created annual position, which will oversee exhibitions, commissions, and collaborations in Basel and Miami Beach.

Galleries
At its core, Design Miami/ is a marketplace for collectible design, where the world’s leading design galleries present curated exhibitions of museum-quality furniture, lighting and objets d’art.

Curio
Curio is an exhibition platform that invites designers, architects, curators, innovators and gallerists to present total environments of objects, textures, artifacts and ideas that challenge and contextualise familiar design narratives.

Design at Large
Design Miami/ Basel’s Design at Large is the highlight exhibition platform for large-scale works and installations that examine a topic of current relevance as part of the fair’s standing as “the global forum for design.” The 2019 programme, titled “Elements: Earth,” aims to explore the role of design, materials and making in a post-nature, Anthropocene future.

Collaborations
Design Miami/ collaborates with institutions, partners and sponsors to present newly commissioned works of design at each fair. These collaborations take the shape of immersive installations, curated exhibitions and unique objects that celebrate design innovation and champion design patronage.

Talks
The Design Talks programme, which takes place in Design Miami/’s Broadcast Theater, presents the design world’s most compelling current topics.

Satellites
Design Miami/ invites institutions to create unique exhibitions with strong curatorial and educational perspectives. Awards The Swarovski Designers of the Future Award honours a select group of promising young designers and studios who exemplify new directions in design culture.
