Pastis

Decorated in a colourful 1950’s retro style, Pastis’ easy going nature serves light and simple Sicilian cuisine to make a change from those hearty Piemontese dishes. In Piazza Emanuele Filiberto just behind Porta Palazzo, this has long been a haunt for the young Turinese after a trip to the market. Great for a light lunch or an aperitivo, during Artissima week there is always a good vibe here.

Pasticceria Ghigo

Ghigo confectioner’s shop was established in 1870 and it was known as a dairy until the 1950s. At the time “marghe” (milkmen) used to deliver milk home in tanks drawn by horses and then pour it into typical white drums. At the back of the shop “tomini” and other kinds of fresh cheese were made and then sold directly to customers. The recipes of Ghigo’s products were jealously handed down from generation to generation and they are still used to make croissants and other unique products.
