Repubblica di San Marino “Friendship Project”

San Marino believes it is necessary to overcome the concept of a national exhibition hall, transforming its spaces into a “trans-hall” as defined by Christine Macel, the curator of the Biennale. The project – presenting artists from San Marino, China and Taiwan – is inspired by today’s conflicts: to reconfirm the historical and traditional vocation of the most ancient Republic in the world towards Peace, Laity and Freedom. The “Friendship Project” therefore focuses on the importance of collaboration and dialogue among populations. The artists mainly focus on ink painting, an artistic technique that is currently very mainstream in the Chinese cultural world, given its traditional importance and its future.
