Haris Epaminonda studied at the Royal College of Art, Kingston University and Chelsea College of Art & Design in London. Selected solo exhibitions include 2010 Chronicles, Site Gallery, Sheffield; VOL. VI, Level 2 gallery, Tate Modern, London; Artists’ Film Club, ICA, London; 2009 VOL. V, Frame solo presentations at Frieze Art Fair, London; VOL. IV, Rodeo Gallery, Istanbul; Daniel Gustav Cramer & Haris Epaminonda, Boltelang gallery, Zurich; VOL. I, II & III, Malmö Konsthall, Malmö, Sweden; 2008 Tarahi III, V, VI, Circus Gallery, Berlin; Haris Epaminonda, Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin; 2007: 52nd Venice Biennale, Cyprus Pavilion, Venice. She is represented by Casey Kaplan, New York, Francesca Minini, Milan, and Rodeo Gallery, Istanbul. Haris Epaminonda lives and works in Berlin. Epaminonda works primarily with video, film, collage, books and installation in an extensive process of assembling and disassembling materials to reconstruct new associations and meanings. Using both found material and her own, the artist builds an emotive and poetic visual language, in which, as it is been noted, the association of images she creates are sufficiently intense to affect the viewer’s consciousness, although not complete enough to arouse in him/her a particular reading. The reality distance is minimal, but the impression one is left with is somehow that of a blurred vision, as if dreamed. Epaminonda is also known for her ongoing collaborative project ‘The Infinite Library’ together with German artist Daniel Gustav Cramer.
