Alia Zaal
Born in Dubai and lives in Dubai, UAE
Alia Zaal graduated from the College of Fine Arts & Design at the University of Sharjah and completed a master’s degree in art history and museum studies at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi.
Since 2007, her work has appeared in exhibitions throughout the United Arab Emirates and globally, including in Bangladesh, Germany, Italy, and the United States. Lootah concentrates on painting and photography, but is also interested in curating. She completed a curatorial internship at the Musée National d’Art Moderne, which is housed in Paris’s Centre Pompidou. Lootah has also worked as a curator for the Bait Al Banat and has spent time working as a curator at Louvre Abu Dhabi. She resides and works in Abu Dhabi.
She is currently undertaking a residency at Maison Oscar-Claude Monet in Vetheuil, France.
