Silvia Mariotti

The artist (born in Fano, 1980 and currently in Milan) inquires the environment by means of photography, in order to find out the relations between what is artificial and what is natural. Her attention dwells upon fleeting atmospheres, unusual elements or mysterious situations, and it also tries to look away from the loud noise of life, insisting on slackening the pressing rhythm of it, in order to grasp all those out-of-control elements, which – if separately examined – build up the texture of existence, full of wishes and nostalgia, balance and antinomy, lights and shadows. In all her works Silvia tries to experience places and people in order to think better over the environmental and social situation we are living in.
