Jorge Pineda

Born in Barahona, 1961 and lives in Barahona

Jorge Pineda, is a visual artist and stage director. His work has been exhibited internationally including solo shows at Hunter College in New York, in September 2012 and the Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno, Valencia, Spain, in February 2013. He exhibited at the 52nd Biennale di Venezia, and the XXIII Bienal de Artes Visuales de Santo Domingo, where he won first prize for installation.
His work is part of several public and private collections including: the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León; IVAM (Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno); Colección Patricia Phells de Cisneros; and DA2 (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Salamanca). Pineda is currently exhibiting at the 55th Biennale di Venezia with the collective QUINTAPATA, as well as at the Espai d ́Art Contemporani de Castelló, Castellón, Spain, a group show curated by Agustín Pérez Rubio. He lives and works in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
