Artist

Mary Ramsden

Born in North Yorkshire, 1984

Mary Ramsden lives and works in London and North Yorkshire. She studied at the Edinburgh College of Art and the Royal Academy in London. Ramsden creates abstract paintings that combine organic forms with bold, expressive brushstrokes. Her work is focused on the act of painting itself and demands close attention from the viewer. By rejecting any clear references in her work, Ramsden creates compositions that appear simple but are actually quite complex. Even small changes in color, size, or brushstroke can significantly impact the overall piece.
