Anissa Touati

Anissa Touati is a French independent curator and conservator trained as an archaeologist. She is also founder and director of the cultural organisation Octavia.
She is chief curator of Paris Internationale, artistic director of the Pavilion for a Mediterranean Nation of the Lagos Biennial 2023 (Nigeria) and chief curator of the launch of the Thalie Foundation in Arles. She is the former artistic director of Contemporary Istanbul – a project for which she built a programme of reflection on the question of Mediterraneanism – and the former associate director of the Chalet Society in Paris.
Since 2021, she has been a member of the committee of the MAH in Geneva, a member of the acquisition committee of the FRAC Corsica, a member of the final jury of the Paris-Malaquais School of Architecture and a member of the jury of the Sovereign African Art Prize, South Africa.
