Jameel Arts Centre will open in Dubai in November 2018, to be the final home for Art Jameel organisation, supporting artists and creative communities.

One of the first contemporary arts institutions in Dubai, the building will open in Dubai Culture Village. Designed by Serie Architects, the building is projected to become a cultural pole and a hub for educational initiatives, hosting multiple gallery spaces, an open access research-library, an outdoor sculpture space, a bookshop and a café. Its structure has been conceived specifically for its rich cultural programme as a series of boxes of varied dimensions, all bounded between each other.

Exhibitions will run year-round, drawn from the Jameel Art Collection, plus regional and international solo and group shows. Two Kuwaiti artists Alia Farid and Aseel AlYacoub‘s artistic proposal has been chosen by Art Jameel to debut at  the opening of Jameel Arts Centre. The project, called Contrary Life: A Botanical Light Garden Devoted to Trees will imagine a botanic garden with new species based on local plants and will dialogue with the design of architect Anouk Vogel for the courtyards of the building.
