Castello di Rivoli, Turin has announced its exhibition’s programme for 2016.
On the 6th of April 2016 Giovanni Anselmo‘s exhibition titled “Mentre la mano indica, la luce focalizza, nella gravitazione universale si interferisce, la terra si orienta, le stelle si avvicinano di una spanna in più…” will be open to the public. The exhibition unfolds on the third floor of the Manica Lunga. Starting with the work Interferenza umana nella gravitazione universale (1969), Anselmo has put together a unique itinerary that enhances the building’s architectural flow and its orientation with respect to the apparent motion of the Sun along the east-west axis. As part of this itinerary, which, overall, actually constitutes a new installation, there will also be some other works by the artist, including a few important ones from the past. Moreover, the project will also be accompanied by the publication of a scholarly and artistic catalogue as well as a re-edition of the rare artist’s book, Leggere (1971–1972).
In September, the important retrospective dedicated to Ed Atkins will be organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (a section will also be installed here) and it will be the first exhibition in Italy of Atkins’ works. The exhibition, which will take place on the third floor of the Castello, is conceived like an imposing immersive video installation, with Atkins’s key works from the past.
