First Italian Video Artweek to Take Over Rome

Videocittà, is a cultural event in Rome running from 19 to 28 October, 2018 aimed at uniting and making the creative and production worlds linked to the moving image dialogue, through the involvement of the general public. Videocittà was conceived by Francesco Rutelli, president of ANICA (National Association of Multimedia Audiovisual Film Industries), and is directed by Tomaso Radaelli. As part of the event, there will be a section of contemporary art featuring video art: curated by Damiana Leoni and organized by Lorena Stamo, the focus retraces the history of a language, the encounter between art and moving image, which gives simple documentation becomes an expressive form.

The event sees the participation of art spaces, institutions and galleries in Rome  such as the American Academy in Rome and the MAXXI which is showcasing the work of video artist Nam June Paik, Shirin Neshat, among others.
