Helen Marten Wins the Turner Prize 2016

Every year since it was initiated in 1984, the Turner Prize, one of the best-known visual arts prizes, nominees four artists and awards one of them for an outstanding exhibition or other presentation in the preceding year.

The Turner Prize 2016 exhibition showcased the work of the four nominees: Michael Dean, Anthea Hamilton, Helen Marten and Josephine Pryde.

Just awarded the £30,000 Hepworth Prize for Sculpture, Helen Marten is also the winner of this year Tuner Prize for her works “Lunar Nibs” and “Eucalyptus Let Us In” on show at the Tate Britain in London. Helen Marten was born in 1985 in Macclesfield and she currently lives and works in London.
