My Art Guide Basel 2019 is a paper and digital issue dedicated to Art Basel and the Art Week in Basel and Zurich, available online and on iOS and Android app.
This new edition has been developed thanks to an incredible editorial committee formed by Albertine Kopp (Executive Director of Caribbean Art Initiative), Séverine Fromaigeat (Curator, Museum Tinguely, Basel), and Jacqueline Uhlmann (Brand Manager and Head of Communications at Löwenbräukunst Zurich). The committee has been working to select the best and most interesting art spaces and exhibitions in both Basel and Zurich.
Albertine Kopp is one of the founders of the Caribbean Art Initiative, a non -profit programme that aims to support contemporary arts from and across the Caribbean region and promote its cause globally.
Prior to the Caribbean Art Initiative, Albertine led Davidoff Art initiative for 6 years, where she formed a profound Caribbean network of artists, institutions and local businesses. Through her role she was able to promote Caribbean arts at international art fairs, incl. Art Basel, Venice Biennale, Frieze, ARCO. She connected local artists to widely recognized institutions in New York, London, Berlin, Beijing and Bogota. She created a lively artist residency exchange that allowed various international artists to work in the Caribbean. Her work was recognised with the European Corporate Art Awards in 2017. Throughout her career, Albertine worked in arts, communications and marketing with museums, art fairs and corporations. Prior to focusing on Caribbean Arts, Albertine worked with Volta Show, Deutsche Bank Collection and Louis Vuitton Communications in New York, Paris and Frankfurt. Albertine is member of the board of Kunsthalle Basel.
Séverine Fromaigeat is an art historian, art critic and curator at Museum Tinguely, Basel. She has curated major exhibitions including “60 Years of Performance Art in Switzerland” (2017), “Too early to panic” (2018) and “Cyprien Gaillard”. “Roots Canal” (2019). She was previously curator for the Pictet Art Collection, and worked for the MAMCO (Museum of Contemporary Art Geneva). She founded the art space Zabriskie Point in Geneva.
Jacqueline Uhlmann is Brand Manager and Head of Communications at Löwenbräukunst Zurich since 2018. She holds a BA in Art Theory and Design and an MA in Art Management including CAS Foundation Management. Jacqueline Uhlmann’s experience ranges from Fair Manager at LISTE Art Fair in Basel, curatorial assistant at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Basel, to assistant at the Gallery Gavin Brown’s Enterprise in New York and Eva Presenhuber in Zurich. She also worked as a studio manager for Wolfgang Tillmans in London. Currently she is also chairwoman of the jury of the Pavilion of Switzerland at the Biennale Arte Venice. Jacqueline Uhlmann is founding director of the non-profit organisation Donate Art Books.
