Rolls-Royce Art Programme Announces Its New Commission

Chinese artist Yang Fudong unveiled his new work for Rolls-Royce Art Commission: the video will be on view from 13 December 2016 – 5 January 2017 at The Shanghai Center of Photography (SCôP), Shanghai.

The 46-minutes long video “Moving Mountains” is the result of the artist’s interest in the popular and old-age story of the foolish man together with the one into the painting by the artist Xu Beihong, whose production dates 1940s. Besides the film, the pieces presented by the artist include a series in black-and-white, related to the characters in the plot. 

Yang Fudong, one of China’s most well-known cinematographer and photographer, was born in Beijing, China, in 1971. Graduated from the China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, 1995, Yang Fudong participated to many solo shows and international art fairs. He now lives and works in Shanghai, where he is represented by ShanghART gallery
