The new museum designed by Selldorf Architects is becoming the home of the Rubell Family Collection. This 100,000 square foot space, set in Miami Allapattah District, has been completed after 23 years of construction and it is due to open in December 2018.

The relocation was meant to respond to desire of expanding and exhibit the entire collection, the Director Juan Valadez stated: “The new museum will allow us to concurrently present four thematic exhibitions which will highlight historical works from the Collection as well as the Collection’s most recent acquisitions. In the new museum we will also greatly expand our education, research and studio residency programs.”

With 40 exhibition galleries, a research library, lecture hall, event space and a sculpture garden plus a restaurant, this museum will be one of Miami’s most significant art pioneers.
