The 12th edition of Lo Schermo dell Arte Film Festival is about to open in Florence, running from November 13-17, 2019.
Initiated in 2008, Lo Schermo dell Arte Film Festival is an international project aimed to connect contemporary art and cinema through film projections, installations, workshops, artistic residencies, and films’ production and distribution.
The main programme features a refined selection of the latest art films, documentaries about contemporary art, video installations, and a rich agenda of meetings with artists, authors, and curators.
Running concurrently with Lo Schermo dell Arte Film Festival, VISIO – European Programme on Artists’ Moving Images is also part of the project.
Featuring an exhibition and several seminars and meetings, the programme aims to promote video artists’ international mobility and cultural exchange.
The eighth edition runs from November 12 – 17, 2019, under the curatorship of Leonardo Bigazzi and features the participation of 12 young European artists selected through an open call.
The 2019 exhibition, named “VISIO. Moving Images After Post-Internet“, investigates the developments of the filmic language in the post-internet era through the works of the twelve selected authors.
