The Standing March – JR and Darren Aronofsky

On his official Facebook page, the street artist JR has just revealed his project “The Standing March”, in collaboration with the famous film director Darren Aronofsky, which took place in Paris on November 29th and 30th.

While the city was blocked for security reasons after the recent attacks, the image of 500 persons was shown on the facade of the Assemblée Nationale, as a silent way of protesting against the UN Climate Conference in Paris. The screening was accompanied by a new soundtrack performed by Massive Attack and it will travel throughout Paris from December 1st until December 7th at locations to be revealed on the artists’ social media accounts.

The video represents more than 500 persons from different backgrounds united around the idea that the conference must end up with meaningful agreements between the countries. The protagonists, who joined the artists after a call for participation, have been filmed separately, rotating themselves on a green background and united to create a representation of humanity.

The week program is the following:

– Wed 02/12 : Assemblée Nationale and Musée d’Orsay, quai Anatole France
– Thu 03/12 : Panthéon, rue Valette
– Fri 04/12 : Musée Picasso, garden on rue Vieille du Temple
– Sat 05/12 : Bibliothèque Ste-Geneviève, Place du Panthéon
– Sun 06/12 : City hall (Mairie) of the 19e. arr.

Time : 20h – 02h every night.
