Architectural Association School of Architecture

The institution was originally founded in 1847 as a public forum and learned society

36 Bedford Square

The Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture is the oldest independent school of Architecture in the UK. The institution is not just a school, but reunites under its label multiple activities, such as a publishing house, an architecture bookshop and a registered charity.

In addition, the AA’s Public Programme features an extensive series of public events dedicated to contemporary architectural culture: exhibitions, members’ events, lectures, seminars, conferences, book launches and publications. Each year a series of Evening Lectures or Visiting Theory Seminars or Artist Talks are organised, where practitioners, writers, performing artists, musicians and art historians are invited to speak.
