Bait Al Naboodah

Bait Al Naboodah first opened its doors on November 14, 1995, and reopened on April 08, 2018, after renovation and restoration.

Al Mareija, Heart Of Sharjah, Sharjah, UAE

Built in 1845,  the building was originally the house of the late Obaid bin Eissa Bin Ali Al Shamsi, nicknamed Al Naboodah, a prominent pearl merchant who held commercial ties in India, Africa, and France. Bait Al Naboodah is set around a sun-drenched courtyard with walls made of coral and, since the beginning, stood out for its remarkable design, combining local architectural and cultural elements with the influences from the broader Gulf region. Now a museum, the building was one of Sharjah’s largest houses and is a prime example of a grand coastal home.
