Artist Run New York: The Seventies

Warehouse 45, Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz, Dubai, UAE

The Jean-Paul Najar Foundation presents the group exhibition “Artist Run New York: The Seventies”. The show aims to be an investigation about the change of perspective made by contemporary artists during the 1970s in New York: a decade marked by the rejection of traditional art, in which the art processes begins to question the established limits imposed by society and market, an “Artist Run” culture arguing all previous definitions of art.
“Artist Run New York: The Seventies”, curated by Jessamyn Fiore,  features works from this revolutionary period across many mediums, including photography, video, painting, sculpture, drawing, writing, archival materials and live performances, underlining how this artistic legacy has impacted today’s contemporary art world.
