Mahmoud Obaidi: Fragments

Meem Gallery presents “Fragments”, a solo exhibition featuring a selection of large scale works by Iraqi – Canadian artist Mahmoud Obaidi, revisiting the “organized chaos” of America’s 2003 invasion of Iraq: the artist visually reconstructs Baghdad through the use of iconic imagery associated with the ongoing hostilities. All the sculptures and objects featured in the exhibition are cast in metal, and series of detailed sketches accompanies the sculptures.
