Gillian Lawler: This Entropic Order

Gillian Lawler‘s solo exhibition This Entropic Order continues her investigation onto ideas of place, organisation, relocation and transformation through different states of being. Her paintings represent alternative realities, where life is suspended and  relocated in other spaces, dominated by the artist’s unique language made up of triangles and lines. Lawler is particularly interested in places which have become abandoned due to major environmental disasters or for economic reasons. This is evident in the pictures of the disaster of Centralia in Pennsylvania in the early sixties, collected and manipulated by the artist herself.
