Gisela Motta and Leandro Lima: Chora Chuva

Galeria Vermelho, Rua Minas Gerais 350, Higienopolis

The installation that names the show, “Chora Chuva”, has just been presented at Vancouver Biennale (Canada).

For the Biennale, the artists were invited to develop a project based on the connotative definition of “Be at a crossroads“, or, in other words, the point in a narrative where the conflict reaches its peak and the tension demands to be solved.

A turning point. After that provocation, they created an installation composed by several buckets of water connected to speakers, which generate a sound of continuous dripping, simulating water leaks that aren’t there — a piece that can be understood as a direct reference to São Paulo’s current water crisis.
