Faust Fest from November 1st to 4th at Faust in Via della Rocca is the brainchild of and curated by Gianluigi Ricuperati, offering an incredibly rich programme, which wouldn’t look out of place in a large museum in London or New York, radiating from a small nocturnal bookshop in Via Della Rocca and occupying thought into the beyond.
Ricuperati and his team (co-curators Giulia Nomis and Maurizio Cilli) have brought together some of the most fundamental names in the contemporary world of research, alongside curators and critics such as Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, Hans-Ulrich Obrist and Donatien Grau, architects such as Italo Rota, designers such as Patricia Urquiola, philosophers such as Gianni Vattimo and Leonardo Caffo, writers such as Heidi Julavits, founder of The Believer (one of the most important literary magazines in the last twenty years) plus a series of special exhibitions by Cerith Wyn Evans, Stefano Graziani (back from a solo show at the Prada foundation), and an overview of the Turinese art fairs with Olga Gambari, Bruno Barsanti and Giorgio Galotti; in addition to interventions by outstanding interdisciplinary thinkers such as Maurizio Cilli, the Tate Gallery graphic designer, Zak Kyes, and English artist Dean Kenning, one of the most original voices on the British art scene.
