Miami New Media Festival 2018

The 13th edition of Miami New Media Festival takes place from October 2 to January 15, 2018, travelling around seven different cities, namely Miami, Aruba, Bogotá, Caracas, Rome, Santo Domingo, and Valencia, to showcase cutting edge art by 70 artists from all over the world.

Starting in Aruba, this edition of the festival features also guest artists such as Bill Viola, Nam June Paik, and Robert Wilson among others, while twenty supplementary artistic positions from eleven countries have been selected through an open call to fill other spaces around the cities.

For the MNMF XIII edition, the curatorial focus of the festival is Water, Heritage, and Climate Change. Given the strong connection of Miami with the ocean, the curatorial committee invited participants to investigate the symbology of water and the way it is affected by pollution and toxic waste, through a multidimensional approach.
