Anna Maria Maiolino: O Amor Se Faz Revolucionário

Italian-born artist Anna Maria Maiolino moved to Brazil in her late teens: in her works, she draws inspiration from women’ s every day experience and from her witness of censorial dictatorship in the late 1960s and 1970s in Brazil, to explore human relationships and the difficulties occurring in communication and expression. Engaging a wide variety of media, from performance, sculpture and videos to photography, installation and drawing, the artist’s investigation digs both into the human physicality and into the intimate sphere.
