Ben Eine solo show

Artspace Gallery will present the first solo show of the British artist Ben Eine in the United Arab Emirates. The exhibition will display a brand new series of works of the artist known worldwide for his shutters and murals.

From single letters to complex and wry statements, Eine has left his mark worldwide on shop front shutters and public walls, like in Middlesex Street described by The Times as “a street now internationally recognized as a living piece of art with direct links to The White House.” as well as in museums and galleries from the UK’s renowned Lowry Museum to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
In addition to the exhibition at Artspace Gallery Ben Eine will also create two mural in Arabic and English. The first one, in d3 (Design District) in Dubai, will be in conjunction with an educational program with Zayed University in Dubai, where students will help assist in the creation of the wall. The second one, instead will be realized on British Embassy’s wall in Abu Dhabi.

The aim of these site specific murals is to engage participation within arts and culture, using the powerful medium of street art.

Ben Eine (b. 1970, London) is one of the most successful street artists in the world today and is regarded as a pioneer in the exploration of graffitti letterforms. The artist’s work is currently held in the permanent collections of many museums around the world such as the V&A (London) and The Museum of Modern Art (Los Angeles).
