Chiara Dynys: Sabra Beauty Everywhere

Museo Correr, Piazza San Marco 52, Venice, Italy

Italian artist Chiara Dynys brings her vision to the Sala delle Quattro Porte with a project which addresses important social issues. Her new project, entitled “Sabra Beauty Everywhere” (2012) was created in the refugee camps of Sabra and Shatila in Lebanon. The theme is childhood games, played by children who are living in these ghettos of fear and isolation, yet who – despite everything – still manage to be children, behaving with an apparent disarming normality. Encased in precious ‘tabernacles’, the images of lacerated childhood bear witness to the commitment and role of Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia in examining the emerging problems of social coexistence.
