Christian Tagliavini: Voyages Extraordinaires

Camera Work, Kantstrasse 149

Camera Work presents Voyages Extraordinaires by Christian Tagliavini. The exhibition is an homage from the artist to a great writer of the 19th century: Jules Verne. Over a working period of 24 months Christian Tagliavini created a series of works, which cites three of the best-known novels of Jules Verne: “A Journey to the Center of the Earth” (1864), “From the Earth to the Moon” (1865) and “20.000 Leagues under the Sea” (1869). In emotional scenes and touching portraits Christian Tagliavini combines his meaningful picture language with the fantastic science-fiction of Jules Verne.

After his well-known series “1503” and “Carte”, “Voyages Extraordinaires” is the most comprehensive series by the photographer.
