Christopher Williams: Open Letter to Model No. 1740

The new works exhibited here are part of Christopher Williams’ ongoing series “For Example: Dix-huit Leçons Sur La Société Industrielle” (Eighteen Lessons on Industrial Society). Williams studied at the California Institute of the Arts in the 1970s under the first wave of West Coast conceptual artists. He is currently professor at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. His recent survey show “The Production Line of Happiness,” was first on view at The Art Institute of Chicago in 2014, followed by The Museum of Modern Art, New York, and Whitechapel Gallery, London in 2015.
