The exhibition “Dreaming with the ancestors”curated by Davide Domenici and Carolina Orsini, emerged from a research project which investigated the Mesoamerican objects in the permanent collection at MUDEC. The objects have been arranged and curated with forward thinking scope, opening them up to new interpretations and for connections to be made with other artistic themes.
“Dreaming with the ancestors” is a selection of archaeological and ethnographic Mexican objects from the MUDEC permanent collection curated alongside historical photos, and images of Frida Kahlo’s work. Demonstrating how both the indigenous world and the pre-Columbian past influenced Kahlo’s artistic practice.
