Exit Strategies

H Queen’s presents ‘Exit Strategies’, a site-specific art experience conceived by David Chan. ‘Exit Strategies’ will utilise the public space of H Queen’s to explore notions of psychological escapism experienced in response to the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. Including both realized artworks and new commissions, works will range from installation, video, sculpture, photography and sound, providing varying examples of psychological withdrawal, negation and delusion as forms of escapism from the frenzy of our everyday lives in the city. ‘Exit Strategies’ aims to immerse audiences in a transitory environment as they descend the building from the 17th floor to the ground floor and to stage phenomena of collapse, inversion, compression, and delusion.

 Featuring established and emerging artists from Hong Kong including Chloë Cheuk, Silas Fong, Lee Kit, Linda Lai & the Floating Projects Collective, Map Office, Tsang Kin-Wah and Tamás Waliczky, this project is the fourth annual public art initiative by H Queen’s in support of the local art scene.
