During Milan Design Week 2017 Piazza Gorani is turned into Foyer Gorani, a focused selection of contemporary design talents, each with a different style, who are asked to talk about their unreleased or recent production and about the importance of research, analysis of materials, stratification between past and present, whether it be public or private history. In the past, the Palazzo Reale was situated in this area. Now, the square hosts the remains of the Maximilian walls, the Gorani Tower, the Ansperto Tower and signs of Second World War bombings; moreover, people from Milan remember it as a parking area.
Projects by Sigve Knutson, Sabine Marcelis, Philipp Weber and Matteo Cibic.
