Free Fall: Mishka Henner – Davide Tranchina

The exhibition Free Fall presented by Galleria Bianconi and curated by Walter Guadagnini, reveal two unpublished series of work by two artists Mishka Henner with “Turbines “ and “The Persistent Gaze” by Davide Tranchina.

Henner’s Turbines series is dedicated to the presence of new elements in contemporary landscapes such as wind farms. Turbines continues Henner’s exploration of how industry has shaped the landscape.”Only from space,” Henner has said, “can the enormous scale of these operations be truly appreciated. The results offer unique perspectives on our collective desires, behaviours, and their consequences on the land.”

“The Persistent Gaze” by Davide Tranchina instead is the attempt to nullify every movement of the gaze, so that the obsessive repetition of the frame induces the observer to concentrate on the innumerable changes in a subject, becoming like the horizon. As Tranchina says, “Photography itself is a window on reality. To immortalize a window is to reflect on photography.” Alongside this work Tranchina presents the polaroid series entitled “Apparent Horizons ”

During the exhibition a catalogue will be published with a text by Walter Guadagnini.
