From the Inside Out

Drawing Room

20 Sep 201811 Nov 2018

From the Inside Out, on view at Drawing Room, London, merges works by four female artists who uses diverse form of drawings as medium of communication of the complexity of female experience. In the work exhibited, both new and older ones, the artists use drawing to document their own personal memories and private thoughts, stressing at the same time the boundaries of the media to incorporate other disciplines, such as collage and assemblage. Taking inspiration from literature, popular culture and folklore, the artists tell stories about age, sexuality, gender and politics, portraying situations that become personal and universal at the same time.
