Guilherme Maranhão: Travessia

After finding rolls of black and white photographic film expired for 20 years,Maranhão (b. 1975, Rio de Janeiro) decided to use the material to photograph a trip he would take to the United States, in 2011.

The result is the Travessia series, composed of images that mix a real scene to random misshaped figures that result from the fungus that covered the film. In the show, curated by Fausto Chermont, 31 photos from this series can be seen.
