Artist Clare Kenny transforms the art space at Kunst Raum Riehen in Basel, materialising her dream of a comprehensive exhibition representative of her personal collection of art. Including iconic pieces borrowed from important cultural institutions, “If I Was a Rich Girl” also features Kenny’s site-specific works which relate with the other ones on view. Using affordable materials and varied interior design techniques, employed for decorating and furnishing interiors in different periods of time, the artist investigates how the idea of “being reach” could be expressed aesthetically.
The showcase includes works by Roger Ackling, Louise Bougeois, Heidi Bucher, Helen Chadwick, Valie Export, Guenther Foerg, Imi Knoebel, Wolfgang Tillmans and Josephine Wood.
