James Capper: Ways To Make a Ship Walk

Ways To Make a Ship Walk features twelve new large drawings by James Capper, made while fabricating the first Walking Boat sculpture Mudskipper, which will be presented in London in the spring 2019. Besides the drawings, the show features a full-scale plan of Mudskipper, a fully mobile sculpture some 9.2 metres in length. James Capper’s multi-scale “Walking Boat” sculptures highlights the deep interconnection between biomechanics and the human, organic and technical. His objects represent an aesthetic expression of the reciprocal relationships between technology, organism and craft.
