Je Ne Sais What?

Carnelutti Studio Legale Associato, Via Principe Amedeo, 3

“Ladies and gentleman, by way of introduction, this is a film about trickery and fraud, about lies. Tell it by the fireside or in a marketplace or in a movie, almost any story is almost certainly some kind of lie. But not this time.”

Orson Welles da F for fake

A project by: Aston Ernst, Belle Sunn, Burt Lancaster, Claire Hachette, Clint Eastwood, Johnny Jarrett, Matias Rub and René Le Haut.

Over two days, the prestigious Milan Law Firm is turning into a surreal set, where reality and fiction, lawyers and artists, paperwork and works of art will be housed in the same halls and conference rooms of the building. It will be like being in the middle of a spaghetti western, with an international cast featuring names adapted or borrowed from the Hollywood scene, like a box office blockbuster.

There will be fountains that do not exist and ocean horizons, brick books and volcano smoke; and a chess tournament, animated portraits, musicians playing theme tunes from TV news shows, disguises and tropics. Older works and works created for this specific occasion, set amid a library shelf, a table, and Cicero’s bust: minimum movements, apparently.

Je Ne Sais What? is the spinoff of the trilogy of Mr Rossi, which started in 2007 with A Certain Ratio (Room Gallery, Milan), continued with As you enter the exhibition, you consider this a group show by an artist you don’t know by the name of Mr. Rossi (Spazio Minerva, Milan) and completed with Two Times Once (Limoncello Gallery, London, 2011).
