Julio Le Parc’s Variations autour de La Longue Marche

Hermès is delighted to open the doors of its new boutique in the Miami Design District. Uncompromising craftsmanship, a pioneering spirit & groundbreaking creativity are tenets by which Hermès stands and during Miami Art Basel, it celebrates these in the fourth edition of Hermès Editeur. Hermès Artistic Director Pierre-Alexis Dumas has invited guest artist Julio Le Parc, Argentine exponent of kinetic and optical art to collaborate on a unique project. A veritable hymn to colour, Julio Le Parc’s proposition, entitled Variations autour de La Longue Marche, has resulted in the creation of ten series of six silk scarves. These creations will be on display at Hermès Miami from December 1st through December 31st, 2015. Julio Le Parc’s work explores questions of movement, light and optics as well as the relationship that exists between art and its beholder.
