Wolfsonian – FIU

06 Oct 201701 Apr 2018

Associated with both the Vienna Secession and Jugendstil and recognized as one of the leading graphic artists of the modern age, Austrian designer Julius Klinger (1876–1942) transformed commercial visual culture and became famous as a poster designer. His design, which we can appreciate in advertising posters, book and magazine illustrations, mass promotional campaigns, ornamental and typographical design, was characterized by graphic simplicity and directness.
